The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 还不错，看出来制作下成本了，很精细。亚当唱的配乐很棒。
崽子四岁，超级喜欢汪汪队。陪他看完以后感觉比剧版好很多。狗狗不再只是勇敢，他们也会害怕，也会沮丧，也会担心。其中以阿奇的情感转换最为明显。“我不是因为你可怜才收养你，而是我知道你一定会成为一个英雄”。最后皆大欢喜，孩子慢慢也认识了狗狗的更多面。所以啊，评判一个儿童电影，就问孩子喜不喜欢。我家小孩儿一个多小时没动地儿没说话，全程看下来意犹未尽，这在他看来就是好的儿童电影。
导演写了一篇饱含深情的作文，我的故乡，这块小地方发生的宗教动乱只是陪衬，巴迪畅游在自己的世界，街坊邻居，爷爷奶奶，第一排的女生，不常回家的父亲，神经总是紧绷的母亲，黑白的回忆里，有电影为其着色，有漫画，有推理小说，有范莫里生。
“好”与“不好”可能在此处不是一个评价自传体乡愁电影的标准，导演能自我感动和自我沉醉就很好。打四星因为我对那地方有滤镜，就这样。
这片子是个低龄向的动画电影啊喂。
7.2 有点像《乔乔的异想世界》也有点像《元首的粉兔子》但没有这两者好。在宗教矛盾下一个街道中的96号家庭的命运，是留守还是离开，聚焦点不准，情绪太散，过度全部用音乐简单的处理，显得稚嫩而单一。但巴比真的很可爱，音乐也很好听。
比预想中好看很多啊！最后全员出动的时候真的很燃。那个reporter居然是jimmy kimmel也是意外之喜
尽管人文背景差异巨大，但人类的情感总是相通的
父母和祖父母都很可爱，感受到了甜。小男孩初恋和社会冲突的部分互相交替，让人感觉的确是回忆式的，只有那些最深刻的事情才会留下。但头尾和彩色部分衔接的部分反而没啥感觉了。

这个片头，这个配乐方式，这个影调，像是中学生满分作文精选集的第一篇。
就算不十分了解故事的背景，有一点却总能让人感同身受，那就是选择。人的一生不知会做出多少选择，换句话，人生就是在数不清的选择中歪歪斜斜的前进的。那些曾经让人感觉割裂的、绝望的、甚至是“背叛”的时刻，终将烟消云散，也终将刻骨铭心。如同爷爷下葬后，一个转折，振奋的音乐声中，妈妈在跳舞，爸爸在唱歌，奶奶和巴迪很快乐，但他们不会忘记爷爷，也不会因此让远走他乡变得轻松。只是，他们必须要放下一些羁绊，选择“Go, Go now”。他们的人生将因这个选择而不同，而不变的是爱：对亲人，对故乡，对懵懂的情感，对熟悉的一切，对未来......它如同少年巴迪手中的盾，和平时是玩具，身处险境时，
最近看得比较开心的一个片，虽然有点设计过度。孩子和堂姐在争论到底要说自己是天主教徒还是新教徒，有爱的哲学家爷爷奶奶，经常吵架但是有爱又漂亮会跳舞的父母，和课堂里喜欢的女孩子双向奔赴一个前进一个退步。孩子时，自以为老成，但实际上又一窍不通，对很多东西视而不见，却记得广告里的奥妙洗衣粉。
从彩色自由奔放的繁华的现代切到1969年黑白的贝尔法斯特很妙，喊巴迪回家吃饭瞬间让我穿越到1988（捂脸），虽然战事混乱的年代有生存的烦恼但，爷爷奶奶的人生态度加上音乐的结合还是让人感到轻松愉快些，没有那么沉重，结尾奶奶的怼脸拍摄，很震撼，空镜很美！看的时候总是让我想起乔乔的异想世界
或许每个导演都想拍摄一部关于自己最私人记忆的电影，关于他的童年，关于他的迷影情怀。但越是私人的回忆越容易陷入自我感动。于我来说，影片代入感差了些。但不得不说黑白摄影非常美~
