The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 个人竞技主题看似简单直接，想写好实则困难重重，难点正在于要在有限时间里很快体现主角的成长、淘汰赛丰富的对手、以及竞技之外的剧情。没落与复兴、背叛与复仇、舞蹈与摔跤、怪兽与女孩、父与子……这本来是个能写得非常深刻严肃的故事（哪怕是通过诙谐的方式）。但无论是怪兽生态、怪兽多样性、技能多样性、主角团遇到的磨难、反派的实力等，都远未达到预期。老实说只有章鱼触手、羽蛇神（龙）、相扑怪有点新鲜感。倒是质感十足的怪兽们做成手办或搪胶模型应该不错。整个故事适合改个PVP互动游戏。

集中营的回忆部分太少了，现实情节没必要这么多，毕竟集中营里的生活才是最残酷的，没有拍出那种幸存者的感觉。

撑住？撑过三关。被动的去躲避与忍耐，不如主动出击掌握赛场的主动权。生活也是一样，不是一味的退让与忍耐，主动不难，难的是迈出那一步。勇敢一些。
