The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     有一说一,生了一个被医生告知残障严重的小孩,还要让他们活下来的选择。其实都是父母的自私选择,孩子没办法选,如果他们能选择,很少有愿意选择留下吧。从一个成年人如果造成大的事故终身残疾就会想到自杀就可以看出了。。残疾人能参加残奥会就已经是万里挑一的幸运了,还能夺冠就更难得了。只用说主角的妈妈赌对了。。大部分的残障家庭那个残疾孩子是要接受一辈子的生活不能自理且世人独特眼光的一生。。但体育确实容易让人热血。

    3.5/5,用力哭不如用力跑,金句满载,从幼年到青春再到成年之后,虽是讲一个运动员的生涯,但也在其中勾勒出同工不同酬的现实窘境,可惜部分枝节讲述不足,爸爸的身影也被刻意模糊。青春时期的演员真的好棒,今年金像奖演技奖真是竞争超级激烈

    魅力主要還是真實故事。亞特蘭大拍得很好,中段拍得還行,最後部分完全失控,沈悶至極。3.5星。

    我坐在第一排,以仰视的姿态尝试读出点什么,仔细捕捉着所有的声音。我不知道自己看懂没有,又或许这部电影,本身就没有标准答案。

    “为什么小明可以跑得比火车快,因为他有个神奇妈妈”,正因为从妈妈视角出发,这个神奇小子才能成立;小时候的觉醒太阿甘了,把重点放在作为运动员,特别是残疾运动员的生存状态上有点讨巧,特别是正值奥运年,“同工不同酬”更会引起社会的关注。故事完整,演员不错,音乐也动人,不少细节还是能被触动到的,那段训练与拍广告的蒙太奇是这部影片少有的有电影感的地方。缺点也非常明显,情节的选取上同质性比较严重,导致后面推动力不足,造成头重脚轻,而且太过刻意地煽情,特别是一句很重要的台词连说两遍,力度也就减半了。港味很浓,也有被感动哭,如果导演学会克制那就更好了。“望着妈妈,set,go!”7.2

    风光大片+洞穴探险勘测纪录片。几乎没有讲解字幕。被点燃的杂志页面,坠入洞底的火光,最为震撼。在洞穴边踢球,球果然如我担心,砰砰砰弹跳着坠入洞中。头灯居然可以点火,头灯是明火?片头的摩天大楼,呼应片子主体的向地球内部探索。聚众看黑白电视的山村居民,仿佛巨幕影厅的电影观众。山村红屋顶很可爱,还有人在抓猪猪。狭窄阳台上都是围观徒步背包客的村民。病床上奄奄一息的老人,周围门窗景物景深有好几重,具体寓意没看懂。(据说是寓意“当人不再有好奇心时,他的生命就走到了尽头”)大山景色让人想起西藏云南一带的高原。片子最后的手绘洞穴剖面,特别诱人。影片拍摄时,那个洞穴是世界第三大洞穴。(深683米?)据说目前最危险最具挑战的洞潜地点在广西,要是有人拍出纪录片,肯定也很令人震撼。(20210930北影节深影巨幕厅)

    没睡,但也是真的没劲。想要故意误用一个概念来形容它:“视觉系”电影。如果把它往脉络里续,当然逃不掉60年代那些到现今的慢电影,但还是很没劲。

    记录式镜头观感很好,也很让人犯困,以至于前半段我都在半梦半醒间。但一旦理解了蒙太奇连接的洞与老人,片子顿时变得有意思了。然而我理解的洞穴探索者是“自然不敬的闯入者”,被片尾说探洞是伟大创举的文字推翻了,我又蒙了

    洞外的世界幽雅宁静,洞内的深邃别有洞天。伪纪录片质感的双线叙事剧情片,导演在片尾的字幕中也提到了这是一个基于真实事件为创作灵感的作品,洞内的探险场景得益于多机位机位的设置,才能让当时的情景得以完美还原;洞外的宁静山村见证了一位老者的生命凋零,结尾的老人的牧羊号角声象征着生命轮回与生生不息,但是这两条线并没有产生直接关联,跳脱的割裂感比较强,本来有一个场景可以成为两个世界沟通的完美桥梁,就是两个人在洞外踢球的场景,结果球掉到洞内就不了了之了,相信看到最后的大部分观众都十分关注这个球的命运吧,然而导演并没有对此过多交代,多少有点泄气。

    一部伪纪录片,感觉导演提供了一切完美的画面。4K。光,在小镇穿梭,石头表面,山间,黑色的云,透风的房间。又有影像慢慢显现,燃烧的纸,人。检测与检查。电视里播着米兰大厦的纪录片。
