The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 导演在剧中明说自己很多情节就是致敬经典，想要创造教父--东北黑帮的感觉（实际就是放高利贷的）；展示丧葬行业（但是浮于表面形式）；希望社会对刑满释放人员多一些包容和改过的机会（通过自己雇佣以及与自我内心的和解达到）。对于喜剧演员客串的号召力很强，布景和台词都很有东北风格，没有追求表面的搞笑、有一些关于社会的思考。
白事里硬要掺进喜剧元素，太吃力，又违和。最后的逻辑，又太假。
真应该坚持自己的想法不感兴趣就不应该来看 虽然是别人送的票白看但还是觉得很糟糕

人性是复杂的，用一个理念去往里面套用，去刻意提出一个理念，才是最尬的。
说实话有点意思 导演讲故事的技术还有待提升

看着不讨厌，不尴尬还有笑点的喜剧，就比很多作品好很多了

故事情节太跳跃，可以展开的花钱搞笑着眼点显得力不从心，想要的东西太多，还是侠客梦作祟，最后就哪哪都缺点意思

虽然很套路，但是挺有意思，都是这样的网大也挺好玩儿。
