The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 出乎意料地好，编剧水平超过95%以上投喂给成年人的国产电影。
总体而言应该说是一部好看又比较平淡的片子。有一些打斗场面，有家庭温馨的伦理场景，有一些科幻元素，有一些搞笑段子，基本上就是这部片子的全部了
比《失控玩家》要好，起码剧本是一气呵成的。内核其实很温暖，它本质上也是部家庭电影，教导不同年龄段的人该如何面对亲人的离世，即使这种温情戏码又稍显烂俗，但还是那句老话，人人都嫌弃Netflix，没了Netflix，可能还真没有人搞原创科幻了。
