The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 美国太喜欢拍这种突出少数族裔融入白人社会或者说是在主流社会stand out的故事了，你是墨西哥人的骄傲，你是拉丁裔的骄傲，你是西班牙社区的骄傲，强行大团圆，但是看法国原版就没有这种违和感，直接拍一个底层少数族裔和一个上层白人明星的之间的故事即可，别的zzzq的元素可以不用这么多。btw，有个客串一分钟的黑衣女演员很好看。
4、提携后辈？
我看不得梅姐最後那場演唱會，是因為當時看到她和歌神張合唱那首【祝福】~~~唱到最后那一句『你和我重逢在燦爛的季節~~~』~的時候想到她以及L以及好多为之带来情绪相关的种种~~
很完整的一部小片～适合娱乐，知名女演员在不知情的情况下当了亿万富翁的小三，因一次约炮意外被狗仔抓拍，亿万富翁为保住自己的赘婿身份找泊车大叔假扮女明星的情人替自己挡枪，后女主被大叔一家感化，联合正室一起血虐了渣男。感谢剧情没往女主和男主假戏真做的俗套方向走，大叔也没和老婆复合的安排也很合理。一看就是少数族裔导演拍的，还有老金是韩国老头没错，韩语说得很地道～

5.拉丁裔的男主台词里尽是自嘲的冷幽默，心酸之余不难发现他们的安分守己下不思进取的惰性，肤色人种上的差异不但是实现阶层上升时的束缚，还会是成为故步自封的借口。
整体文本有太多意淫了，很多桥段都像是广告片。
突然觉得有些似曾相识，想起了《诺丁山》，同样的成人童话
出乎意料还蛮惊喜的，没有强行种族融合，最重要大家保持互相尊重，这种爱情片已经很少能让我觉得不无聊了，难得这部甚至有点好笑。男女主都很可爱。3.5.
温情家庭喜剧。不烂尾，不狗血。还好。
喜剧还不错，翻拍法国版，好久之前还有一部黄政民演的韩剧 那个傻瓜 也是这个剧情，亚裔导演总会抓住亲情部分，少数族裔里的拉美裔家庭观念和亚洲如出一辙。

这些事情发生在高中，SARS，张国荣跳楼，梅艳芳去世，那时候都在电视报纸上看到，历历在目。过去的岁月，都上了电影，啊，时间
这其实算是二流的影片，但却在讲述一流的人物。从68年讲到03年，梅姐见证了香港的风云巨变，香港也留下梅姐的传奇。
说真的，不能拍的话，还不如不拍。

作为一个对梅姐几乎一无所知的路人，观看过程也忍不住几度落泪。倒不是拍得多好，每一滴泪都是为风华绝代Anita的唏嘘一生而流！
人物关系、复杂程度、娱乐性都挺好，透着一股丧气+真诚，好看。
