被低分的作品，德尔托罗的风格依旧犀利，有一点类似于邪恶版的远大前程，乡村小子学了一堆技巧，贪婪的他想要的更多，结果惹了不该惹的人，做了不该做的事情。
剧作还是很优秀，可惜主卡司之间毫无火花，以致于人物生死并不抓观众的心，无法引起任何共鸣。

即便没看过原版也能感受到这个翻拍有多四平八稳，剧情毫无新意和亮点，不过布莱德利库珀真的好迷人好适合演渣男啊

一场寡淡且不尽如人意的freak show
宛如一场漫长的噩梦，红衣的少女金发的少妇平原上闪烁的摩天轮，美丽又泛着诡谲的画面翻滚不息。故事最大的问题是我对他们毫无连接感，观影的感受至始至终都太抽离了。我觉得他们彼此也是disconnected，我和他们亦然。
整体来说这个老套的关于善恶到头终有报因果循环的故事，完成度还是蛮高的，当然对于这么个比较豪华的创作团队，也算是信手拈来，要说问题也不是没有，节奏上的缓慢让本身不是很复杂的情节在150分钟的时长下，显得拖沓，诚然库珀和大魔王的对手戏、畸形秀马戏团的猎奇还有一场场的心灵骗局确实很吸引人，但观影疲劳度真的蛮高，变成快节奏的100分钟左右，精彩程度应该能更上一层楼。
