The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 观影门槛比爱乐之城甚至是直白讽刺的芝加哥要高，很挑观众，对林聚聚没有丝毫了解的可能会看得一头雾水，可以想象评价的两级分化。
一流作家的二流作品，可以想象当年David Auburn重写本剧时调整故事线的难度，三个主角的视角切换里若隐若现的Sondheim才是整个故事的芯，这个剧是属于Larson的Sunday in the Park with George！一定好好赚钱，然后去finance我表达欲爆炸的朋友们！

前半截有点碎，后半截有点拖。但是老夫人都走了（“不要哭，我都听不见我自己死。”），这会不会是最后一次看到唐家屯呢……

用灵动轻盈的方式拍了一个动人的悲剧故事，一个梵高式怀才不遇的天才如何在困苦中继续奋斗，像所有天才一样被误解被放弃，在最终迎来成功时却又永远离开我们的故事。更悲剧的是这样精彩的本应属于大银幕的音乐剧最后只能在网飞看，这依然是一个快消费才华的时代。
加菲完全融入了角色，这一次他很用力，褒义的。
细腻的故事性，娓娓道来的叙事节奏，一些小小的英式幽默点，还是让人暖心，让人微笑，让人沉浸。不过，在一些情节逻辑的发生和结果之间的转换设定的太快，似乎是由于连续剧的叙事进展到剧场版就舍不得放弃的原因，但这种稍微的急促感还是让人皱眉，应该更洗练一些。
