The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 拆散了伊斯特伍德的老元素，拍得像个儿童喜剧，由于台词需要转译，所以电影以老者的节奏留出了空间供人细嚼慢咽。缺点在于小演员的状态总在可爱与做作（英语台词和反应镜头）间反复横跳。
