剧情介绍

The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances.     个人竞技主题看似简单直接，想写好实则困难重重，难点正在于要在有限时间里很快体现主角的成长、淘汰赛丰富的对手、以及竞技之外的剧情。没落与复兴、背叛与复仇、舞蹈与摔跤、怪兽与女孩、父与子……这本来是个能写得非常深刻严肃的故事（哪怕是通过诙谐的方式）。但无论是怪兽生态、怪兽多样性、技能多样性、主角团遇到的磨难、反派的实力等，都远未达到预期。老实说只有章鱼触手、羽蛇神（龙）、相扑怪有点新鲜感。倒是质感十足的怪兽们做成手办或搪胶模型应该不错。整个故事适合改个PVP互动游戏。

    #TIFF21 第46场 Ben Foster的演技真是太抢眼了，让我想到了《愤怒的公牛》，明年最佳男主颁奖季长线应该会有姓名。这个故事不错，但是成片不行。剪辑零碎没有节奏感，蒙太奇式的穿插确实能展现人物心理的变化复杂，但同时也让作品失衡。画面上选择黑白影像（过去）+深色影像（80年代）的交织，想法很好，但这种套路早已经被玩烂了。不知道这次TIFF放完后会不会重新做些调整，个人私认为算是Barry老爷子这些年最好的一部了。快80了还这么拼拍电影，respect！

    2.5 给hallmark加一星but let’s be honest the movie’s sh*t. Too much time spent on the mom. Not a fan of the pressuring/moralizing about other ppl’s relationship with their mom. And why would a middle-aged, hot cardiologist who knows herself make efforts on a str8 woman? En plus ella pas de qualité sauf que sa beauté elle est chiante.
